Dry shampoo is a college girl’s best friend. Most nights, I come home from work late and end up doing homework until the break of dawn. Personally, I never wake up with the desire to shower and get ready for a 9 a.m. class. This led me to use this product.

I have always been a fan of Drybar products. My best friend first introduced them to me and from then on, I was hooked. These products retail for around $25 at Sephora.

This dry shampoo claims to extend your blowout, absorb oil, and add lift at the roots, according to the Sephora website description of the product. It also claims to be a super-absorbent formula that eliminates oils, dirt, and impurities in between washes, leaving hair fresh and clean. With these claims, I decided to try it out myself.

What worked: It was perfect for my hair type. The wonderful thing about Drybar products is that they are curated for almost every hair type. Whether you have straight, curly, dry, fine, or damaged hair, they have a product for you.

What didn’t: The spray nozzle. We often run into spray hair products that shoot out like a bullet, this one falling under that category. I enjoy products that have a spray that is continuous and air powered so it flows out of the nozzle and doesn’t attack your scalp. That can ultimately lead to too much product in your hair and will make it look worse.

The product color. My dark brown/black hair makes it easy for everything to appear in my hair. When spraying this into my roots, I instantly saw the product. I prefer a dry shampoo that has a faint color or no color at all. Now mix that with the strong spray nozzle, and it caused a bit of chaos.

Final Verdict: It’s a hit!!! After testing out other dry shampoos, this one wins by far. It is much more expensive than someone might want to spend on a dry shampoo but in most cases, you pay for what you get, and I got spray GOLD.
